Leadership skills workshop at NMC SBDC
The workshop “Essential Skills of Leadership” will be presented at the Northern Marianas College Small Business Development Center, Building T, on Monday, June 5, 2006, from 9am to 12 noon, as part of its 9th Annual June Small Business Development Month in the CNMI.
The workshop is open to the public and is sponsored jointly by the Commonwealth Development Authority and the SBDC.
The “Essential Skills of Leadership” workshop will build a foundation that enables team leaders to manage their team toward to a shared goal: achieving the organization’s strategic objectives. Throughout the workshop participants will review video presentations and case studies, participate in-group discussions, practice new skills and receive immediate feedback. Managers will leave the session with implementation tools, troubleshooting guides, and additional resources to help them immediately apply their new skills on the job.
The facilitator is Dr. Ken Shankweiler, psychologist and engineer, who is the owner of KIS Communications, a company that specializes in public speaking, workshops and seminars focusing on well-being and professional development. At present KIS Communications is preparing Executive Retreats for several government and private concerns in the United States and the Philippines.
Dr. Shankweiler is a former executive and has prepared this workshop for small business owners, entrepreneurs, college students, and the general public looking to improve their lives and career. The information presented is valuable both in a business sense as well as a personal and family sense.
