VFW MONTHLY MEETING

All members of VFW Saipan Post 3457 are reminded that the final monthly meeting of the 2005-2006 term will be held on June 3 at 1300 hours at the Post Home on Beach Road. The officers for the 2006 –2007 term will be installed at this meeting. All members are encouraged to attend. All eligible veterans are encouraged to come and submit an application for membership. TINIAN MARINE WATER QUALITY REPORT

The Division of Environmental Quality analyzes water samples collected from Tinian’s recreational beaches and storm water drainages this week as part of the regularly scheduled sampling. None of the samples collected contained excessive concentration of fecal indicator bacteria nor did they exceed the CNMI Marine Water Quality Standards. Therefore, DEQ assigns all of the sampled beach sites a green flag. Enjoy our waters.

The Division of Environmental Quality analyzed samples of marine recreational and storm drainage water from 10 locations on Tinian Island this week. DEQ welcomes all inquiries as to the quality of the beach water. The public is encouraged to contact DEQ at 664-8500 with any questions concerning this matter. (PR)

BOY SCOUT TROOP 913 EVENT

Boy Scout Troop 913 will hold its quarterly Court of Honor at 7pm on June 17, 2006, according to Valrick Welch,913 scoutmaster. (PR)

June 1 KagES 5th grade ceremony, 9am, School cafeteria.

June 2 Last day of School Year 2005-2006. Note: Report Cards will be issued to students today. Have a safe summer everyone.

DANDAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL REGISTRATION

Dandan Elementary School will begin the registration for school year 2006-2007. The registration is for all NEW and TRANSFER students only.

June 1-30, 2006 Kindergarten thru 6th grade

Kindergarten student must be born from Sept. 1, 2000 to Aug. 31, 2001, to be eligible to register and must be residing within the Upper and Lower Dandan Homestead, Airport Road zone. The same goes to the rest of the grade levels. Registration will be held in the main office from 7:30am to 4:30pm. Kinder student will be on a first come first serve basis.

To prevent unnecessary delay, parents are urged to provide the school registrar or official with copies of the following documents: Birth Certificate, Health Insurance, Social Security, Map to your house. We will NOT register students without the complete documents. Dandan Elementary School will prioritize zone students and new students who have siblings attending DES.
