Second of four-part series

The battles between Slade “Rage Adelbai and Charleston Aiken in the main event, and Kelvin “The Big Hit” Fitial and Luka Tapuaialupe in the semi main event were very entertaining, but even before the four stepped into the cage, spectators of Trench Warz III: Commotion were already rocking.

This, as all the 15 other fights leading up to the main events provided the audience with so much action that the main events were the icing on the cake.

The evening kicked off with two preliminary fights, with Arthur Reyes of Trench Tech Purebred Saipan defeating Lee Reyes via rear-naked choke, and J.D. Reyes getting Ron Chisato to tap out.

Shortly after, Guam’s Eric Cepeda of Spike 22 was able to improve his record to 3-1 by stopping J.J. Maliti, Ken “Terror” Tanzawa of Trench Tech won in his no-holds barred debut over Ferdinand Fitial, and Jay “Furbs” Santos connected on a flurry of punches to beat Alexio “Alejandro” Evangelista in the first round.

It was then a battle of two veterans as “Suicide” Cliff Masga of Trench Tech and “Kill” Bill Saures of Dragon Tribe put each other’s skills to the test. Saures, who also defeated a Trench Tech fighter in Trench Warz II, was again successful as he connected on a flurry of punches that enabled him to leave victorious.

George “G-Unit” David then made his NHB debut and scored a quick victory after faking a kick and going for what event coordinator Cuki Alvarez describes as a superman punch for a knockout victory over Lucio Omar.

Trench Tech’s Jason “Rush” Tarkong, who fought in the semi main event and main event of Trench Warz I and II, faced off against John Borja, and not surprisingly, Tarkong ruled the ground as he won his third straight fight via rear naked choke.

James Blas, also of Trench Tech, followed with a win over Salik Ittu, and Spike 22’s Tony Borja caught Jordan Palacios on a triangle choke for his second win.

Veterans Danny Atalig of Trench Tech and Herman Duenas of Gracie Barra then stepped into the cage, both entering for third time in their amateur careers. Both fighters held 1-1 records, and the two made a perfect match, as neither was able to fully dominate. The two went the distance, completing the three five-minute rounds before judges voted unanimously for Duenas.

Trench Tech’s Giovanni Sablan, who entered with a thumb injury, then dropped his first bout as he lost to one known as Dallas of Spike 22 via submission.

Frank Robert then defeated Roland Delos Reyes via tap out, and John Babauta scored his second straight NHB win after beating Welsin Apaisam via referee stoppage.

In the final bout before the main events, Frank “The Crank” Camacho improved to 4-0 beating Robert Palacios 4:08 into the fight.

“I think they were very productive,” Alvarez said of the fights. “It’s very enlightening to see a lot of new comers showcase their skills. The mix martial arts depth as far as fighters is getting deeper and I was very happy and pleased with the turnout.”
