GCA Elementary honor top graduate O’Connor
Angelic voices filled the Grace Christian Academy auditorium Friday afternoon for the promotional ceremony of GCA’s Elementary School, with Kallie O’Connor receiving top honors.
Sharing the salutatorian award were Glen Florendo and Anastacia Schweiger. Honorable Mention Awards went to three honor graduates: Angela Mamaril, Abigail Dimaano, and Jimaela Ham.
In her remarks, GCA principal Faith Dela Rosa encouraged the graduates to continue to strive for excellence.
“Your learning does not end this afternoon. Keep learning and seek for answers,” she said.
In her valedictory address, O’Connor explained the importance of education. “Now that I’m growing, now that I’m maturing, I understand why education is so important. Education helps you learn about what is going on in our environment,” she said.
O’Connor also extended her appreciation to her parents and teachers for their commitment to her education.
“My parents were supportive and very helpful. I would like to thank them for letting me come to this wonderful school and letting me have a great education.”
“I would like to thank my teachers…they were such good teachers that even I got to teach my parents things,” she added. “Not only are they good teachers, but they are very great friends to me.”
Graduates were called to the stage to receive awards for President’s List, Perfect Attendance, Sports, Citizenship, and Bible Memory, among others.
The ceremony included presentations from the graduates performing to Music of My Heart, Joyful Joyful, and Only Hope. (Cassie DLG Fejeran)
