The law office of attorney Bruce Berline in western Garapan was burglarized yesterday, the second such break-in at his office in three weeks.

The burglar or burglars carted away four sets of computers and scanners with a total value of over $10,000 in the two incidents, Berline told the Saipan Tribune.

“I’m extremely sad because of the loss of the pictures of my son who is one year and a half old now. It’s the sentimental value of the personal pictures in the hard drive that is so important,” he said.

He said he discovered the break-in when he reported for work at 7am and noticed that the last remaining computer was missing.

The suspect(s) managed to get inside the office located at the Macaranas Building by pulling the rebar at the window in the storage room in the back portion.

Three weeks ago, the office was also burglarized. Three sets of computers and scanners were stolen that time.

Berline is hoping that police can solve the two burglaries, which he believes were perpetrated by the same individual(s), and recover the computers, particularly the hard drive.

The lawyer said he is offering a cash reward to anyone who can provide information to him or to the police that would lead to the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators.

Six years ago, a fire affected Berline’s law office at the Lizama building in western Garapan.
