Chuukese cultural pageant on Saturday

The Fin Chuuk Association will hold first-ever Chuukese Cultural Pageant this Saturday, May 27, 8am to 6pm at the Kagman Community Center next to Laolao Bay Golf Resort.

Last Saturday, May 20, the Ach Chuukese Association put together a youth rally and the winners from the rally will perform in the pageant.

These talented young boys and girls will also receive their winning awards from the first ever Miss Chuuk-CNMI right after she is picked and introduced.

If you haven’t been to any of the Chuukese activities, you need to come and see the girls representing the islands.

All 13 precincts in Chuuk will be represented. The goal of the program is to reach the Chuukese community, especially the younger generation and show the value of knowing their culture and tradition.

Fin Chuuk believes that in knowing who they are, the young generation will begin to appreciate where they are going and what will be their faith in life. (PR)
