MMV premieres video show for Tourism Month
After a short hiatus in the local cable television scene, Marianas Music Video will again fill resume its non-stop and reverberating music videos on TV in this May’s celebration of tourism month.
MMV producer and “video jock” A.J. Baldevia said that after exploding into the local television scene one and a half years ago, MMV would debut its third season tonight at 6:30pm right after the local KMCV News broadcast.
Baldevia said MMV’s short pause dealt with the reorganization of MMV that still include local stories and entertainment for the local cable viewers.
The MMV producer said the new program would be a better format since the show is collaborating with the Marianas Visitors Authority.
“The new program will feature the 30th anniversary of tourism in the CNMI. MMV and MVA have joined forces to bring awareness to the local community on the importance of Tourism,” Baldevia said.
The Marianas High School My Wave Club will also be featured in the show presenting their activities of what they could do to help promote tourism to the youths and the community.
Cable fans will be delighted with the youth band “Apollo Eleven” with a sneak peak on their music video “My Paradise,” which will be used as the jingle for the campaign on tourism.
Baldevia said other features on the show would include “Las Vegas Legends in Concert” with Chamorro stars Jimmy Dee and Johnny Sablan as well as this year’s Flame Tree Arts Festival program.
The MMV producer that the third season would be a great start in creating awareness that tourism is everybody’s business.
“We all should do our part no matter how big or small to participate on making our island a better place to live and visit. MMV also wants to encourage more talented youths to become MMV artists because of the power of how their music and art can reach out people,” he said.
