The House of Manhoben Saints in Division II and the Garapan Rollers III in Division I of the ongoing 2006 NYBA cage league put up impressive performances Wednesday at the Garapan Basketball Court.

The CTSI Logistics-backed Saints got a pretty balanced offensive attack to thank for, as the team was able to stop the Matansa Sparks, 40-18.

Sandy Tenorio wounded up being the top scorer for the Saints with eight points, while Nikko Masga, Ike Agulto, and Ron Catap each pumped in six points to lead the team to victory.

Dave Jones paced the Sparks with five points, while Eli Pangelinan and Dodet Feliciano added four points each.

In Division I, the G-III crew was just too strong for the Sparks II and cruised to an easy 68-28 victory.

It was a tight ballgame in the opening half as the Sparks were able to keep pace with their opponents. Manuel Matagolai worked hard and scored all but three Sparks points, finishing with 13 points in the half as his team trailed by just three points, 16-19.

The game then turned into a rout as Robert Naraja broke loose for 11 points, while the rest of the G-III unit pulled together for a solid attack that resulted in a 49-point explosion, while limiting the Sparks to 12 points for the 40-point victory margin.

Naraja finished with 14 points, while Tom Kim pumped in nine points. Min Joo Jung and Zack Tudela each had eight points.

Matagolai finished with 15 points to lead the Sparks.
