Notorious burglar gets 5-year term
A man facing five separate burglary cases in 2005 was ordered yesterday to spend five years in prison.
Superior Court Associate Judge David Wiseman sentenced 25-year-old Michael Peter to five years in prison, all suspended except two years and six months, for burglary.
Wiseman sentenced Peter to five years in jail, all suspended except two years and six months, for another burglary.
Wiseman said the sentence shall run consecutively without the possibility of parole.
This means that Peter shall serve a total of five years in jail.
The defendant will be placed on five years of probation and required to pay restitution and court and probation fees.
Peter was charged in three cases with conspiracy to commit burglary, burglary and theft.
In the fourth case, the defendant was charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit burglary, three counts of burglary, and three counts of theft.
In the last case, Peter was charged with three counts of burglary and five counts of theft.
The defendant entered a plea agreement. He pleaded guilty to two burglary charges in two cases.
The plea agreement stated that on Sept. 7, 2005, the defendant burglarized the residence of Edwin Maralas and Carmen Ayuyu.
On June 20, 2005, Peter also burglarized the house of James Scott Eck and Atsuko Kada.
