Scapegoat bill?

This is an open letter to my Precinct I representatives to help the CNMI retirees and not support the proposed legislation on the so-called “Defined Benefit Plan Rescue and Reform Act of 2006.”

This is a scapegoat bill that seeks to keep the CNMI government from facing the reality of its responsibilities to pay its debt with the Retirement Fund. You must all stand up and stop the “writeoff business,” A responsible party must pay its debt and, by not supporting the bill, you are standing behind the CNMI retirees and Retirement Fund.

I also urge our senators not to support the abovementioned proposed legislation.

Lastly, I stand with Mr. Roger Ludwick that this is our bread and butter nowadays and, if we don’t have the protection, then we will be seeing each other in court, as well as in the future election.
