Editor’s Note: As part of celebrations of National Teacher Appreciation Week, the Saipan Tribune will be publishing this week unedited essays by students from different CNMI public schools expressing their love and appreciation for their teachers. The project is spearheaded by Dandan Elementary School principal Jonas Barcinas. The following are essays submitted by students of the Garapan Elementary School.

What I appreciate about my teacher is that she is kind and very nice to people and to her hardworking students. She gives her class a lot of homework which I continue doing even though it’s after my bedtime. She loves to help us learn. Mrs. Arriola is a hardworking teacher because she tries her best to teach me and my classmates the best she can. She would want all of her students to improve to the best they can do. She always loves her students and we will always love her. I would like to thank her from the bottom of my heart for all she has taught me this year and I know my classmates will feel the same. Thank you and may god bless you, Mrs. Arriola.

My Teacher

A teacher is someone who is nice and kind. They are always by our sides with a big open mind.

A teacher is someone who is full of joy, she is the one that teaches you like your favorite teddy bear toy.

She always makes you smart. She has a good attitude, and teaches very fast like a playing dart.

I love my teacher.

I’d like to give my special and heart-warming appreciation to my 6th grade teacher, Miss Christine Inos. I appreciate her presence at work even when she tells us how hard she thinks of coming. She’s a beautiful, smart, well-organized, enjoyable, problem-solver, and one of a kind teacher. I conclude that every student should experience the fun, laughter, and hardships in her class. Her love and support is like a pot of gold!! Importantly she really shows us how she cares. Finally, everything about her equals the life of Mighty Mallard a.k.a Fotten Nganga. Miss Inos play a big part in the Garapan Elementary School’s family.

There are a lot of things that I appreciate about my teacher. First of all, he is kind, like when you don’t have money and you want to eat, he will give you money and then you are going to have to pay the next day. He teaches us responsibility.

Another thing that I appreciate about my teacher is that he helps us solve our problems. If someone is fighting with another he will let them talk and be friends again. He also teaches us to solve our problems ourselves.

My teacher also gives us chances. If you forget your homework at the house, he wouldn’t get mad, he will tell you to bring it the next day.

These are the things about my teacher. I appreciate a lot about my teacher. I will never stop appreciating him because he empowers me with many skills that will help me be successful at anything I want to do in my life.

What I appreciate about my teacher is being kind. When we are naughty she will just take out a point from us. Sometimes she’s very strict that means she really loves us. She allows us to play quietly in the rug when she does something important. We can also play hangman in Social Studies regarding what we learn about it. She really wants us to learn many things and tests our behavior. When we get high points we can go to the computer. I really love my teacher and my teacher loves us all too.

My teacher is a great teacher for me because of many nice things you can see in her.

First, my teacher is smart because she knew everything that she teaches in our class. She is also patient to all of us because she teaches everybody even it takes time to learn. She is also thoughtful, because she rewards every student, stuff like pencil, mini toys, stickers and others, who gets good grades and behaves well in class.

Because of the nice things she has, it is proper to appreciate what she has done to us especially to me who become more mature, learn many things and learn to behave well in the class. Again, I say to my great teacher, thank you very much and God bless you always.

I appreciate my teacher because of her kindness. And every Friday she makes us watch TV but that’s if we finish our work and behave well in class. My teacher teaches us how to multiply and divide. My teacher is the best teacher in the whole third grade class. I appreciate my teacher for her forgiveness and honesty. My teacher makes us play with blocks but we only use blocks to help us with math. My teacher is the best because she gives us challenging work but we always pass. I appreciate my teacher because she’s always honest. She always forgives us. Mrs. Mendoza is my favorite teacher. She always makes us do fun activities. Mrs. Mendoza thank you for everything you’ve ever done for us.

My teacher is Mrs. Maricar M. Cepeda. Mrs. Cepeda used to be a Language Arts teacher in Cha-Cha. Presently she is teaching our fifth grade class at Room D-107.

Mrs. Cepeda has many talents, but in my opinion what she does best is teaching.

To be a teacher, you must be responsible; you must have perseverance; in general all of those Megaskills. I believe that Mrs. Cepeda has all of those qualities.

Mrs. Cepeda demonstrates determination and patience everyday. When my classmates and I are struggling with a lesson she won’t give up on us even if she had to explain it a billion times!

Mrs. Cepeda is fair, kind, funny and is fun to be with. She not only teaches us math, science, etc., but also how to be a better person. I want to thank her for being sort of like my “second mom”, for being my teacher and friend and for being who she is. Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
