Scholarship application available online
Saipan Mayor Juan B. Tudela and the board of directors of the Saipan Higher Education Financial Assistance announced yesterday that SHEFA is now accepting new applications for financial assistance for the Fall 2006 semester/quarter.
Any Saipan resident who has not been a recipient of SHEFA assistance must submit a completed and signed printed application form or electronic or e-application and supporting documents to the SHEFA office in Garapan by the close of regular business hours at 5:30pm on July 1, 2006.
Continuing students in college who have been recipients of SHEFA assistance in the Fall 2004 and/or Fall 2005 term and/or the Spring 2005 and/or Spring 2006 semester, but did not submit a renewal application with SHEFA for the Spring 2006 semester, or did not receive assistance in the Spring 2006 term must submit a Renewal application and Promissory Note/Memorandum of Agreement, pursuant to the promulgated SHEFA Rules and Regulations.
New applicants or continuing students for the Spring 2006 who did not receive financial assistance in the Spring 2006 semester may be reconsidered for assistance in the Fall 2006 semester upon submission of all required supporting documents, including an original copy of the SHEFA Promissory Note/Memorandum of Agreement, pursuant to the promulgated Rules and Regulations.
The deadline for submission of applications and supporting documents is July 1, 2006. Application and supporting documents submitted after the deadline will not be entertained or considered for the Fall 2006 cycle of financial assistance.
Any bona fide resident of Saipan or the Northern Islands who is a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident attending U.S.-accredited colleges or universities on Saipan or abroad, enrolled as full-time student and has at least 2.5 GPA for undergraduate and 3.0 GPA for graduate and advanced standing, must submit a completed application and all required supporting documents to the SHEFA office located in the Garapan Housing Complex behind Garapan Elementary School on or before July 1, 2006, from 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday.
