Eric Caisip humbled a 16-person field to win the 9-ball competition organized by the CNMI Billiards League Wednesday night at Shooters Sports Bar & Grill.

Caisip joined pool aces Joey Lucido, Jean Cadag, and Erwin Gomez in the semifinals of the monthly 9-ball tournament with Caisip drawing Gomez and Lucido taking on Cadag for the slot in the finals.

Caisip and Lucido dispatched their semifinal opponents to advance to the championship round, and the former got the better of the latter to hoist the evening’s title.

CNMI Billiards League organizer Fred Prinz said aside from the 9-ball format, the competition also includes a team effort “so that every player will have repeated chances to win.”

Prinz reminded interested teams that rosters should be turned in no later than next Wednesday, May 10, 8pm at Shooters Sports Bar & Grill.

All interested players and competing bars are encouraged to register and play this unique and new format.
