The all-star cagers of the Private School Basketball League mustered just enough juice to put on a big fourth-quarter run that lifted the team to a 65-57 victory over the coaches Tuesday afternoon at the Calvary Christian Academy court.

The all-stars had to work their way back from a slow start as the coaches dominated the opening quarter and grabbed a 23-15 lead courtesy of a balanced attack. Aaron Rath and Ferdie Guinto pumped in eight and six points, while Champ Untalan added five points to spearhead the coaches’ charge.

The coaches, however, were not able to keep the hot streak going as they cooled off in the second period and were held t o just nine points, while giving up 14 points. Despite the rough quarter, the coaches were still able to keep advantage, heading into the break with a 32-29 lead.

Guintos—Ed and Ferdie—tried to keep the coaches from giving up ground with five points apiece in the third, but their efforts came to no avail as the all-stars outscored their opponents, 13-10, and pulled even at 42-42 before the start of the final period in regulation.

After seeing their lead evaporate into thin air, the coaches worked relentlessly in trying to pull out the victory. The team put up a decent performance by scoring 17 points, however, the all-stars were better as Justin Alexander and James Camacho combined for 13 points, and Ki Tae Kim added two field goals as the young guns lit up the scoreboard for 23 points to pull off the comeback.

Alexander and Camacho led the all stars with 14 and 13 points, while Kim pumped in 10 points.

Ferdie Guinto paced the coaches with 14 points.
