Australia or Japan? That is the question

The question that is bugging the Gascon family these days is whether to take a journey to the icy mountains of Sapporo, Japan, or to brave the outback of Cairns, Australia.

Either way, the Gascon family has never been happier after Geraldine Gascon won this year’s Pepsi Fire and Pepsi Ice “Choose Your Adventure” contest.

Gascon won the trip for two during a grad raffle draw held last Saturday afternoon, April 29, at the Joeten Supermarket in Susupe. The contest was sponsored by Pacific Trading Co., the distributor of Pepsi products in the CNMI.

“I’m very happy and [at the same time] nervous!” said Gascon, who was accompanied by her husband Jojo and two kids, Lou Angeline, 9 and Anne Francesca, 4.

Gascon said she dropped 36 tickets for the promo only last Friday. She said she couldn’t believe her luck, considering that there were hundreds of tickets in the draw box.

Since the prize consist of roundtrip tickets for two persons only, Gascon said they would have to chip in for their children’s fare.

“Thank you PTC and Pepsi!” Gascon exclaimed when interviewed by members of the press.

Gascon has been on the island for five years now, working as an accountant for a private firm; her husband works for a cargo company.

When asked, nine-year old Lou Anne said she prefers to go to Japan so that she could see snow.

PTC Saipan general manager Charles Cepeda handed over the prize to the Gascons last Saturday. He assured the CNMI community that there would be more promos from Pepsi and PTC.

Pepsi Fire and Ice are still available in the market and, according to Cepeda, people who have not tried the refreshing soda drinks still have the chance to do so until supplies of the drinks last.
