Environmental Expo at the Street Market tonight
The Environmental Expo, organized by the Division Environmental Quality as part of the CNMI’s celebration of Environmental Awareness Week, will be held tonight at the weekly Garapan Street Market.
The Environmental Expo, which attracted participants from both government and private sector earlier this month at the Chamolinian Cultural Village, will once again put up booths at the busy street market tonight from 6pm to 9pm.
The environmental programs such as the Recycle Fashion Show and award recognitions will also be held tonight, honoring the islands’ very own environmental advocates.
Expected participants tonight from the government side are: the Department of Lands and Natural Resources, Coastal Resources Management, Division of Fish and Wildlife, Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, Division of Historic Preservation, Department of Public Works, Commonwealth Utilities Corp., DPW Energy Office, Emergency Management Office, Department of Public Safety Fire Division and Explosive Response Team, Bureau of Environmental Health, CNMI Marine Monitoring Team, Public School System, Saipan Mayor’s Office, and the DEQ.
The agencies and offices will hold demonstrations and presentations to the public about the importance of preserving, maintaining, and protecting the environment.
Some private sector groups also expected to participate tonight are: Pacific Pest Control, Joeten Ace Hardware, and Island Apparel also participated in the event.
