Shell prices up 8 cents
Shell Marianas’ retail prices for gasoline and diesel increased by 8 cents a gallon effective close of business yesterday.
In a statement, Guam-based Shell Marianas president Ruben Domingo said that regular unleaded, V-Power [premium] gasoline, and diesel fuel prices would move up by another 8 cents a gallon “effective close of business on April 19.”
He said this is due to continued increases of fuel prices in the region.
“Oil products in the region continue to be traded at near record levels which requires us to adjust our prices again to maintain alignment with our supply cost,” said Domingo.
Shell had just increased its retail prices by 6 cents five days earlier—on Good Friday.
Shell service stations on island now sells premium gasoline at $3.359 a gallon, regular gas at $3.189 a gallon, and diesel at $3.349 per gallon.
This week’s increase of $0.08 per gallon would be the fourth increase by Shell this year.
The company first adjusted its prices by 6 cents in January and March this year.
In 2005, Shell increased its pump rates by at least 12 times and rolled back its prices three times.
