FLAME TREE ARTS FESTIVAL SET
The 25th Annual Flame Tree Arts Festival will be held April 27-30, 2006, on Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands. The main venue will be at American Memorial Park on Thursday (6-10pm), Friday (6-11pm), Saturday (10-11pm) and Sunday (10am-10pm).
The “Ebb & Flow: Tides of Culture” poetry forum and illustration exhibit will be open to public at the Children of Our Homeland Cultural Center, Joeten Kiyu Public Library during the festival. The deadline for high school students to submit entries for the contest is 4:30pm, April 24, 2006.Ten entries will be chosen for publication. The Attorney General’s Office wants to hear from all CNMI consumers who have been solicited by a company calling themselves Community Reading Club of Southern California. This company contacts consumers over the phone and tries to sell them magazine subscriptions. Often, the sales pitch involves an offer of a “free” gold watch with the placement of an order with this company, please call the Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Counsel at 664-2333. You may be entitled to a refund.
MEMORIAL DAY PREPARATIONS
On May 29, 2006, Memorial Day, the CNMI will be paying tribute to members of the U.S. Armed Forces who have passed on.
This is to let all Memorial Day Committee members and all interested in being a part of the committee know that we will begin to meet every Tuesday at 9am at the Office of Military/Veterans Affairs on Capitol Hill building 1365. Everyone is encouraged and invited to attend.
