A man was arrested for allegedly beating up his girlfriend and hitting her head with a frozen case of chicken and an empty five-gallon water bottle during their argument over a TV set.

Vicente A. Palacios was arrested for domestic violence, according to the Department of Public Safety on Thursday.

The victim sustained injuries and was brought to the Commonwealth Health Center. She was later released, DPS spokesman Ken Concepcion said.

The victim reportedly told police that the incident was triggered after she sold their TV set so they could buy food. Palacios allegedly only wanted her to pawn it.

Palacios allegedly slapped the victim and hit her head with his hands repeatedly. He also choked her and pushed her head to the wall several times, Concepcion said.

The DPS spokesman said the suspect then hit the girlfriend with the empty five-gallon water bottle and a case of frozen chicken on her head.

The victim decided to seek police’s help. (Ferdie de la Torre)
