Woman allegedly beats up husband

A woman was arrested for allegedly assaulting her husband and threatening to kill him with a knife at their residence in Dandan Tuesday afternoon.

Jocelyn Yacan, 29, was arrested for assault, assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and disturbing the peace.

But Yacan told police that her husband had pushed her to the floor while she was talking to her friend on the phone.

The Superior Court initially imposed a $7,500 cash bail for Yacan’s temporary liberty. A bail hearing was set yesterday afternoon.

Police said that, during an argument, Yacan kicked and punched her husband, who was holding their two-year-old daughter.

When the husband tried to stop her, Yacan allegedly took a kitchen knife and threatened to kill him. The husband ran to a store, where he called the police.

Teen nabbed for alleged battery, kidnapping

A teenager was arrested for allegedly beating up and kidnapping his former girlfriend on Sunday.

Anthony Palacios, 18, was arrested for kidnapping, two counts of assault and battery, two counts of assault, disturbing the peace, and criminal mischief.

The 17-year-old victim suffered multiple injuries.

Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth Govendo imposed a $100,000 cash bail for Palacios’ temporary release. Preliminary hearing was set for April 20.

Police said that Palacios beat up the 17-year-old victim at the Marine Beach out of jealousy. He dragged her to his car, beat her up, and brought her to a vacant lot in Chalan Kanoa. The defendant again allegedly beat up the victim in the vacant lot.

Prior to that, the defendant allegedly broke the window of the victim’s house by throwing rocks.
