The Commonwealth Ports Authority will be holding its Triennial Aircraft Disaster Drill Exercise on Thursday, April 13, 2006 from 9am to noon.

This drill, as required by the Federal Aviation Administration, allows CPA and other government agencies to review and assess procedures that are to be adhered to to safely respond to a disaster should it occur at the Saipan International Airport. This year’s drill includes an aircraft incident scenario.

CPA is advising the public that emergency vehicles from different regulatory agencies will be traveling to and from the Saipan International Airport for the duration of this drill and for the public to not be alarmed.

“CPA would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the participants of the disaster exercise for taking the time during their busy schedules to assist and accommodate CPA during the drill. This disaster drill is essential for all agencies in the CNMI to prepare themselves for the worst,” the agency said in a statement issued yesterday. (PR)
