12 teams compete in Tagaman relay

A total of 12 teams took the Tagaman relay challenge Saturday morning, with the team of Aaron Fitzpatrick, J.F. Bader, and Heather Morrison taking top honors.

Fitzpatrick started with a respectable time of 33:15—fifth-best among team swimmers—in the 2-kilometer swim, then Bader took over and muscled out the best 60-km bike time in 1:39:25. Morrison then capped off the exciting day for the team with a 15-km run of 1:05:36 for a combined time of 3:18:16.

The team was in a tight battle with second place finishers Michael Camacho, Renato Calagre, and Ceasar Danao, who finished just two seconds behind in 3:18:18. Camacho hammered the swim in 27:41, Calagre finished the bike in 1:48:36, and Danao had the fastest run time, clocking in at 1:02:01.

Rezne Wong, Philip Pedernal, and Chris Linder placed third in 3:21:41. Wong had the fastest swim time (27:32), Pedernal finished the bike in 1:51:56, and Linder ran for 1:02:13.

The one-two punch of Jack Kabiriel and John Dougles were fourth as Kabiriel did the swim in 31:14, Douglas biked for 1:52:39, and Kabiriel returned to run for 1:07:34.

Hillary Stevens, Elisa Long, and Krista Hawley were fifth overall in 3:57:34, while Natasha Good, who swam and ran, teamed with biker Tim Lang to finish in 4:02:52.

Masayoshi Fujimori swam and Ayumi Fujimori biked and ran or a combined time of 4:07:08, while Tinian pride Mark Lero, Romeo Sison Jr., and Reggie Ayuyu followed in 4:10:21.

Sarah Johnson had the fourth best swim time and teamed with Shan Seman for an overall time of 4:13:51, while Gayle Berger teamed with runner Rob Carruth for a time of 4:14:39.

Izumi and Monica Yamaguchi followed in 4:23:52, while Young-Ja An, In-Ja Kim, and Soon-Duck Park completed the challenge in 5:02:54.
