Resto league meeting to push through tomorrow
Organizers behind the 2006 Inter-Restaurant Basketball League would like to apologize for their aborted meeting last Monday and has rescheduled the tete-a-tete tomorrow, April 8, 2:30pm at Capricciosa.
Jake Villanueva of Country House blamed a scheduling snafu for last Monday’s failed meeting. He, however, assured participating teams that he and co-coordinator Jojo Molar of Capricciosa will make sure the Saturday meeting will finalize everything for the “Midnight League.”
Representatives from the four confirmed teams—Country House, Shirley’s Coffee Shop, and Naked Fish—as well as previous competitors—Pacific Gardenia, Angel Wings, Keeraku Restaurant, and LSG Sky Chefs—are requested to attend the meeting tomorrow.
The restaurant cage league will be played on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights beginning at 10:30pm.
The regular season would feature a single round-robin format. Throughout the regular season, best player awards will be presented to the top performer of the winning teams and like its inaugural season, 3-point shootouts will be held during halftime.
Organizers also reminded teams that only employees of businesses joining the resto league are allowed to suit up for their respective teams.
Teams, however, are allowed to recruit an “import” provided the player is not currently a member of the CNMI National Basketball Team.
The 2006 Inter-Restaurant Basketball League is once again being sponsored by Triple J Five Star Wholesale and interested teams must fork over a $600 entrance fee to participate.
