Less of appointee posts

Could we have less of positions that require appointees? The CNMI should not have too many top positions or departments that require appointments by the governor. One reason is that, every four years, new appointees need to be trained and training costs money. You also lose the four-year experience of the previous appointee.

The CNMI should snap out of its appointee position craze and just hire those who are qualified and leave them out of politics. A person shouldn’t win a job just because the person they supported for governor won the election. I am referring to all governors of the CNMI.

Do not hire or fire a person just because there is a new governor. This is not to advocate making all positions appointee-free, but we should reduce the number. Let the Human Resources department or Personnel recruit, select, hire, train, and retain the qualified people. This would be better for the CNMI.
