MHS’ Ada lands on Who’s Who
A junior high school student from Marianas High School has joined the roster of select students in this year’s Who’s Who Among American High School Students 2005/2006, Honoring Tomorrow’s Leaders Today catalog.
Jonathan Ada made it to the elite list because of his membership in several prestigious groups such as the National Honors Society of MHS. Ada is also active in sports and basketball is one of his favorites.
Born to parents Edward and Lily, Ada was selected among the highest-achieving students in high school across the nation. Ada has five siblings: two sisters, Merced and Evangelina, and three brothers, Scottie, Edward and Anki.
According to the program’s vice president of Student Programs, Jeffrey J. Fix, the honor that Ada received has traditionally been of great value to high school students.
“Jonathan will qualify to apply for one of 61 scholarships totaling over $100,000,” said Fix.
There are over $4 million worth of scholarships that have already been awarded through the program, said Fix.
He added that Ada’s achievements would be made known throughout the nation as a result of the complimentary distribution of the prestigious publication to approximately 11,000 colleges, high schools, libraries and youth organizations.
Ada is now eligible to use the College Referral Service that will inform selected colleges and universities of his choice.
Fix said Ada’s biography would be published in Who’s Who Among American High School Students next fall.
The Who’s Who Among American High School Students list is the 39th annual edition of the book that recognizes high school students’ efforts and academic achievement. The book is now released for subscription.
