A man was arrested for allegedly knocking on the doors of an apartment in Gualo Rai and identifying himself as an agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Joseph K. Sablan, 30, was arrested for criminal trespass and disturbing the peace.

Sablan was taken before Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman yesterday for a bail hearing.

Wiseman imposed a bail of $200 cash and $1,800 unsecured bond. He set the preliminary hearing for March 20, 2006.

Detective Patrick Earl Maanao stated in court papers that on Monday afternoon, a caller informed the Department of Public Safety that a person was bothering one of the tenants at the Gualo Rai Court Apartment.

When a responding police officer arrived, Sablan was still in the apartment.

Maanao said police learned that it was Sablan who had knocked at one of the rooms and when the tenant opened the door, the defendant identified himself as an FBI agent.

When Sablan was told to leave, he claimed that someone called him from room number 10.

Some tenants appeared and complained that Sablan who would knock on their doors late at night, posing as an FBI agent.

When Sablan was interrogated by a detective at the Department of Corrections, the defendant allegedly stated that he would go to the Gualo Rai Court Apartment upon invitation by “Frank Camacho from the FBI.”

The police report did not mention what was the reason why Sablan would knock on the doors.

It was not clear yet whether the defendant is the same Joseph K. Sablan who convicted in 1998 by then Judge Timothy Bellas for entering GIG’s Discotheque in Garapan in 1997 and harassing the manager and some customers.

It was also not clear whether it is the same Joseph K. Sablan convicted in 2002 by Wiseman for hitting a Chinese person with a pool stick.
