Peter Tenorio worked his magic on the mound over the weekend as the youngster from the Major League Mc Donald’s squad no-hit the Toyota Matrix to pick up a complete game shutout in front of a full house at Tan Ge Field on Sunday afternoon in continuation of the Saipan Little League Baseball Association at the Oleai Sports Complex.

The McNuggets needed all that Tenorio could give from the little green hill because their hitters were having a difficult time with super-sized pitcher Henry Nakamura from the Matrix. Tenorio refused to surrender a hit or a run to the Green and Yellow fellows and fanned 12 along the way to his six-inning complete game, but Nakamura was impressive in his five and two-thirds innings on the hill.

The Toyota hurler took the ball from young L.J. Hemley in the top of the first and went the rest of the way allowing three runs off of as many hits while besting Tenorio with 13 strikeouts.

Tenorio got just enough help from the offense as his catcher Kevin Villagomez went 1-for-3 with a single and a plate crossing while shortstop Patrick Tenorio went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored on a day when hits came at a premium.

Patriots 10, Kagman 1-2-3 0

The Patriots continued their star-spangled ways on Sunday as they dominated the kids from Kagman with 10-0 shutout in which their pitcher Joe Palacios attacked from the mound with a relentless assault of strikes to send the homesteaders back to the other side of the island empty handed.

Palacios allowed just one hit and fanned nine batters through four innings, while his hitters dropped a dime on Kagman to force the umpires to invoke the 10-run mercy rule. Centerfielder Jeremy Rabauliman was the top hitter for the red, white, and blue with a perfect 2-for-2 performance at the plate that yielded a pair of runs batted in.

Braves 8, Red Sox 1

The Braves rode the wave of pitcher Lamark Iguel all the way to the bank as the hurler pinned the Red Sox down through six innings to pick up a complete game win on Sunday at Tan Ge Field. Iguel was on fire for the Braves as the little tomahawk allowed just one run off of five hits and fanned a dozen to cut the Sox down to size.

The ace continued his reign of terror on the other side of the plate as well, as Iguel went 3-for-4 with three singles and a run batted in. When he wasn’t hitting, Iguel was a running machine with a stolen base and three runs scored.

Shortstop Charito Kladikim provided plenty of power as well with a triple and a homerun that accounted for a pair of ribbies and two plate crossings, while teammate Pete Lieto went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and a run batted in.

SENIOR LEAGUE
Ol’Aces 4, Marlins 2

Big time play runs through the Iguel family as pitcher-turned-shortstop Jesus Iguel gave his all on the field and at the plate as the Ol’ Aces gaffed the Marlins 4-2 under the sun on Sunday morning at Francisco M. Palacios Baseball Field. Iguel went three innings atop the hill for the Aces allowing two runs off of six hits and fanning three before Shane Yamada took the mound in the fourth and finished the game without surrendering a run off of a lone hit and fanning three through four innings.

Iguel shifted over to shortstop and continued to have a solid game at the plate with a 2-for-3 outing that yielded a pair of singles, three stolen bases, and three plate crossings, while third baseman Isaiah Wabol went 1-for-2 with a single and a run batted in.

BIG LEAGUE
Ol’Aces 16, Braves 6

The Tanapag Braves have seen better days that they did on Sunday as the Ol’Aces put frowns on their faces with a one-sided 16-6 game that forced the umpires to invoke the 10-run mercy rule before thing s got out of hand at Palacios field.

While the Braves looked good in the top of the first when they opened up a 5-0 lead, the Ol’Aces quickly erased the deficit in the bottom of the inning when they scored 10 runs off eight hits and capitalized by scoring a run off of a walk and a balk.

Second baseman Ryan Tudela went 3-for-4 for the Aces with a pair of singles, a double, and three plate crossings, while shortstopper Franco Flores went 3-for-4 with a base hit, two doubles, drove in three runs, scored four times, and stole a pair of bags.

First baseman Ben Taisacan contributed to the cause with four runs batted in and a stolen base off of a single and an inside-the-park homerun, while right fielder Jeff Nelson went 2-for-3 with a single, a triple, and two runs batted in.
