The youngest stars of the Saipan Swim Club continued to show improvement over the weekend by recording an impressive list of times at the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool during the Heptathlon.

Nine-year-old Kensuke Kimura pulled off one of the most promising performances in the pool as he pulled off first place times in the 100m breaststroke (1:44.28), 100m freestyle (1:17.50), 50m butterfly (45.19), 200m freestyle (2:45.84), 50m breaststroke (49.28), 50m backstroke (45.29), and 50m freestyle (35.73).

Ten-year-old Grace Kimball did the same with first place finishes in the 100m backstroke (1:52.20), 100m freestyle (1:28.93), 200m freestyle (3:28.57), 50m breaststroke (57.78), 50m backstroke (48.00), and 50m freestyle (38.65).

The duo was on top all day, but they weren’t the only tykes with top times as eight-year-old Andrew Kimball ruled the 8-and-Under division with first place finishes in the 100m breaststroke (2:22.82), 100m backstroke (1:58.89), 100m freestyle (1:44.96), 50m butterfly (1:11.44), 50m breaststroke (1:06.88), 50m backstroke (54.67), 50m freestyle and (47.50).

Making the day’s event more impressive is that all of the swimmers were completely exhausted by the time they touched the tiles of their final heat. SSC head coach Michael Stewart said that he was impressed with the way his tankers performed and that all indications are that his club will do well when they face the international competition next weekend during the SSC International Meet.
