Crime Stoppers gave kudos to All Parts Inc.-Car Quest, Microl-Toyota, Pacific Trading Co., Pacific Islands Club, Hamilton’s Restaurant and Bar, Glooay Mai Thai Spa, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Laolao Bay Golf Resort, Coral Ocean Golf Club, Gold’s Gym, Shell Marianas, Joeten Enterprises, Ace Hardware, Joeten Motors, Aqua Resort Club, Carmen’s Safeway, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Shooters Bar, Duty Free Shoppers, CNMI Familia Network, A’s Canopy, Fiesta Resort & Spa, Saipan Grand Hotel, Delta Management, Saipan Nikko Hotel, Rep. Organizers behind the tournament also gave special thanks to “Go for Broke Soldiers and their Families,” Peter’s Fun Food, Jim Ripple, Tom Blas, Jerry Ayuyu, Robert “Woody” Woodruff, and all the referees, volunteers, and spectators of the Crime Stoppers Slow Pitch Softball Tournament.

The event was held last month at Tan Ge Baseball Field and was won by Wells Fargo after it defeated Natibu, 14-6, in the finals in Jan. 12.

Wells Fargo took home the first place trophy, had the team name etched in the perpetual trophy, and pocketed the $300 prize. Wells Fargo is made up of players from 2003 and 2005 champions No Ka Oi.

Natibu didn’t leave the field empty-handed either, as the second place squad received a trophy and $200 for its runner-up finish.

Also earning a lot of cash that weekend was Ned Norita of Natibu, who won $50 for topping the tourney’s side event, the homerun derby.

Crime Stoppers Slow Pitch Softball Tournament was dedicated to the return of the CNMI’s troops from Echo Co. 100th BN 442nd Inf. and in honor of their fallen brothers, SSG. Wilgene Lieto and CPL Derence Jack. (Mark Rabago)
