Sunday outage in northern parts of Saipan

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. said that customers within the northern portions of Saipan would experience a scheduled power outage on Sunday, March 5, 2006, from 12pm to 4pm.

The purpose of this outage on Feeder 7 is to repair and replace three Air-Break Switches that have been damaged from excessive corrosion on the existing metal structure. .

“Because of safety concerns to our linemen, it is necessary that we must de-energize the power lines,” the agency said.

The affected areas and time of the outages are as follows:

Feeder 7— Lower Base, As Mahetog, Tanapag, Achugao, San Roque, As Matuis, Homestead and Marpi.

The affected traffic lights will be at the Saipan Ice & Water intersection.

Wastewater and water services within these areas will also be affected. (PR)
