Korean pop sensation rocks Saipan
Despite a little rain, Korean female pop sensation Lee Hyo Ri recently highlighted the debut of her second solo album, Dark Angel, to a packed audience of more than 1,000 people, at the Pacific Islands Club Saipan on Feb. 19, 2006.
Lee, along with 200 of her fans, visited Saipan to celebrate the release of Dark Angel. Bugs Music, one of Korea’s top music portal sites, organized Lee’s visit.
Lee’s entourage included winners from the Bugs Music online promotion to celebrate the release of the album, broadcasting mediums, and top officials from Bugs Music. The media included representatives from MBC, MNet, KM TV, YTN, ETN and Maeil Economy Daily, just to name a few.
The Marianas Visitors Authority said the islands is expected to gain more than $10 million of free exposure through this special showcase event.
The group of more than 300 enjoyed the island’s warm weather and sandy beaches during their brief stay. Members of the media also had the opportunity to visit the island’s golf courses.
“This event was very successful and all of our participants were amazed at the wonderful hospitality that has been displayed to us during this visit. The outcome of this event is much better than we anticipated,” said Kim Kyung Nam, Bugs Music chairman. “We would like to hold another event such as this to create more awareness of Bugs Music and this beautiful island.”
