The Department of Public Safety is investigating the disappearance of twin tourists who have been reported missing for a week now.

The DPS Criminal Investigation Bureau appealed yesterday to anyone who has information on the whereabouts of He Yong and He Jing to contact CIB at 664-9042 to 43. Informants may also call the DPS emergency hotline 911 or the Crime Stoppers Program at 234-7272.

DPS said that He Yong and He Jing, both 51, arrived on Saipan from Shanghai on Feb. 21, 2006, along with other Chinese tourists.

The twins were scheduled to depart back to Shanghai on Saturday. Both have been reported missing since Thursday.

Police said the twin sisters were last seen along Beach Road near Winchell’s in Garapan. Both were last seen wearing a light colored shirt, short pants, and straw hats.

The Century Tour agency is offering a $500 cash reward for any information leading to the twin sisters’ location.

A CIB investigator disclosed that they doubted “foul play” behind the disappearance considering, among other things, that the twins’ passports, room keys had been left in the hotel where they stayed.
