Ogumoro brothers plead not guilty
Former acting police director Capt. Aniceto T. Ogumoro and his brother, former shooting range master Ambrosio T. Ogumoro, pleaded not guilty yesterday to the charges that have been brought against them by the Department of Public Safety.
Aniceto Ogumoro, 44, pleaded not guilty to the information charging him with two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, one count of possession of a weapon without proper registration, and one count of unlawful possession of ammunition.
Ambrosio Ogumoro, 47, pleaded not guilty to the information charging him with assault and battery, unlawful possession of a firearm, and two counts of unlawful possession of ammunition.
Superior Court Presiding Judge Robert Naraja set a status conference for Aniceto Ogumoro today at 9am.
Naraja set the jury trial of Ambrosio Ogumoro for Sept. 11, 2006.
Attorneys Edward Arriola and Stephanie Flores represented Aniceto Ogumoro. Attorney Viola Alepuyo served as counsel for Ambrosio Ogumoro.
The Attorney General’s Office charged Aniceto Ogumoro after police recently raided his house on Capitol Hill where they recovered three rifles and 25 boxes of ammunitions.
The AGO charged Ambrosio Ogumoro for beating his wife and illegal possession of a gun and ammunitions.
Police stated in court papers that Ambrosio Ogumoro had also threatened he would kill Gov. Benigno R. Fitial and blow up DPS.
The Ogumoro brothers are out on bail.
