The Attorney General’s Office filed charges yesterday against the son of Commonwealth Utilities Corp. board chair Frank Guerrero in connection with three burglary incidents on Saipan.

John Richard Palacios Guerrero was charged with three counts of burglary, four counts of theft, and one count of criminal mischief.

Chief Prosecutor Jeffery Warfield Sr. stated in the information that Guerrero burglarized the Pure Water Co. along Beach Road on Nov. 25, 2005, and stole money, food stamps, and checks.

Warfield said the defendant also stole credit cards belonging to Roger Valas.

Warfield said Guerrero then burglarized Truong’s Restaurant in Chalan Kanoa on Dec. 11, 2005, and stole a computer system, credit card, fax/copier machine, and gift certificates.

The chief prosecutor said the defendant damaged the door and lock at Truong’s Restaurant.

He said the defendant also burglarized Horizontal Corp. (HBR International) in San Jose on Dec. 18, 2005, and stole items totaling $3,300, including four cell phones, watches, blank company checks, a CD player, and other items.

In that case, Guerrero posted a $50,000 property bond.

Guerrero was also arrested during a reported break-in at Mid Pac Micronesia Building in Gualo Rai on Dec. 30, 2005. He was then released on bail.

Last week, Guerrero was indicted in federal court along with Gary Lee Castro Pangelinan for conspiring to use and forge credit cards and checks that were stolen from a postal office.
