Teams to conduct search and rescue exercise

SANTA RITA, Guam—Search and Rescue Group Guam will conduct an exercise today, Feb. 21, from 9am to 12pm along the beachfronts between Orote Point and Agat and immediately offshore.

The purpose of the exercise is to provide organizations of SAR Group Guam an opportunity to plan and respond to a potential disabled and adrift vessel.

Organizations that will participate in the training include Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25, U.S. Coast Guard Sector Guam, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Andersen Air Force Base, Guam Fire Department, Guam Police Department, and Department of Parks and Recreation.

The public should not be alarmed if they see emergency vehicles and personnel, military boats and helicopters or hear sirens in the vicinity of the exercise.
