Guam airport authority wants a makeover
HAGÅTÑA, Guam—The A.B. Won Pat International Airport Authority, Guam has come of age and needs a new look. Beginning Feb. 20, GIAA will seek the creative inspiration and insight of Guam residents in developing their new image.
As part of its community outreach program, GIAA is launching a Logo Design Contest, in which residents will compete to design the creative template for the agency’s new logo identity.
From now until May 5, 2006, non-commercial artists, middle-school, high-school and college students are encouraged to paint, draw and create a logo that they feel best represents Guam’s airport and the island. Entries must be submitted no later than 5pm on May 5, 2006 to Big Fish Creative Inc, a local advertising agency that will be administering the contest.
The entries will be judged by a panel of judges selected from members of the island community. The winners of the contest will be announced on May 26, 2006 and awarded a cash prize of $1,000, $500 and $250, respectively, for the first place, second place and third place winners.
The chosen artist will have the opportunity to work with local advertising agency Big Fish Creative, Inc. to fine-tune the image for GIAA’s use in several applications such as print, web and television. GIAA’s new logo identity will be unveiled in August 2006.
GIAA hopes the Logo Design Contest will become an outlet for the creativity and pride of the students while it promotes positive relations within the community. (PR)
