Doctor goes running in Marpi, later finds his car missing
A doctor parked his car at the Last Command Post in Marpi on Thursday afternoon to go running, but when he came back after an hour the vehicle was already gone.
Dr. Florian Braig, of the Commonwealth Health Center, however, told the Saipan Tribune yesterday that he got back his car after it was found at Smiling Cove Marina.
Braig said nothing was stolen, except his $40 cash.
The Saipan Tribune learned that Braig parked his silver Toyota RAV 4 with a bike rack on the back (license plate ABW-483) on Thursday at 5:45pm at the Last Command Post to run with some friends to Suicide Cliff.
When the group came back at 7pm, the car “disappeared without a trace.” The doctor immediately reported the incident to the Department of Public Safety.
Among the items in the car were a surgical microscope and an endoscope that belong to CHC, wallet, and cellphone.
Braig said that on Friday afternoon, a friend saw the car parked at the Smiling Cove Marina and called the police.
It was not clear how the suspect managed to drive the vehicle to Smiling Cove. No one was arrested as of yesterday.
