Castro replaces acting police director

Department of Public Safety acting commissioner Juan Wabol has already named the replacement of acting DPS police director Capt. Aniceto T. Ogumoro, who was recently arrested for illegal possession of firearms.
DPS Criminal Investigation Bureau chief Maj. Edward H. Manalili said Wabol tapped current training division chief Greg Castro to serve temporarily and concurrently as acting police director.
Manalili said Castro assumed the position of acting police director effective on Tuesday.
The CIB chief, however, stated that there has been no official word yet regarding the replacement of Aniceto Ogumoro’s brother, Ambrosio T. Ogumoro, as the DPS shooting range master.
“Right now we’re trying to fill up the tight gaps,” said Manalili, who is also the acting DPS spokesman.
As of yesterday, the commissioner has yet to issue an order that would clarify the status of the Ogumoro brothers.
Police arrested Ambrosio Ogumoro last Friday on allegations he beat up his wife and for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunitions. He also allegedly threatened to kill Gov. Benigno R. Fitial and “blow up” DPS.
On the following day, police arrested Aniceto Ogumoro, after they raided his house in Capitol Hill where they allegedly recovered three rifles and 25 boxes of ammunitions.
