Japanese’ performing artist and TV personality Jun Nagasawa will hold his post-Valentine concert tonight and tomorrow evening on Rota.

According to Tom Mendiola, member of the newly formed National Chamorro Association of Mariana Islands, Nagasawa will perform tonight at the Coconut Village Hotel.

Tomorrow evening, he will be joined by local artists in another performance at Rota Round House pavilion.

Mendiola said the free concerts are part of the Rota-Japan friendship celebration.

“He [Nagasawa] is a famous singer and TV personality in Japan. We are so excited to welcome him here,” Mendiola said.

He said Nagasawa was invited by local officials.

“He’s been here before. He came back because he fell in love with Rota. He is particularly interested in the culture, tradition. He finds Rota more of a cultural destination. He finds it more relaxing,” said Mendiola.

He said about 60 fans from Japan followed Nagasawa to Rota.

“They came all the way from different locations in Japan for Nagasawa,” he said.
