Tinian DPS to hold checkpoints

The Tinian Department of Public Safety’s Traffic Section will be conducting Occupant Protection and Child Restraint checkpoints on the day and times listed.
* Feb. 15, 2006: The first set up will be on Broadway by Tinian Hotel. This operation will commence at approximately 7am and will be terminated at approximately 8:15am. The second set up will be by the Municipal Baseball Field. This operation will commence at approximately 4pm and will be terminated at approximately 5:15pm.
* Feb. 17, 2006: The first set up will be by the Youth Center. This operation will commence at approximately 7am and will be terminated at approximately 8:15am. The second set up will be on Broadway by the Tinian Hotel. This operation will commence at 4pm and will be terminated at approximately 5:15pm.
The checkpoints will last 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes) at each location. This activity is part of the Department of Public Safety’s effort to ensure that all vehicle occupants are protected.
In addition, traffic officers will be conducting highway criminal interdictions, saturation patrols, aggressive driver interdiction, and laser activities.
