One by one, the parade of champions passed through the glass doors in Puerto Rico as Saipan’s purveyors of prognostication received recognition for jobs well done following an entertaining season of Miller Lite’s Pigskin Picks.

Jon Cramer recently enjoyed the fruits of his flair for forecasting as he reeled in four cases of frosty goodness for wholly or partly winning four of the final seven weeks of the season. Cramer was the most successful of the locals in the final stretch and finished the season tied for second overall with last year’s champion Will Hunter at 172-84.

The duo correctly picked the outcome of the weekly games 67.2 percent of the time, and while Cramer had plenty of reason to celebrate, he was not the only apple in the bunch to pack a prognosticating punch as Hunter only took home two cases since Miller Lite began awarding 24 cans to the football fans in Week 10.

The fourth place finisher actually brought home more than Hunter as the Lil’ Mahi scored three Pepsi packages much to the dismay of his rival cola loving parental units whose allegiance is with the red can and the white swoosh.

That didn’t bother the Mahi because the Saipan International School student got a kick of providing the fridge with a red, white, and blue debut. The kid wrapped up the season 153-103 for a respectable 60-percent accuracy rate, which is much better than cellar dweller Rich Brooks.

The Psycho Gnome was a step behind the pack at 137-119, but at least he was able to win out one week and keep his head above the .500 line at 54-percent.

While all of the others took home a bit more than him, Blanco got the ultimate chuckle because he’ll be laughing all the way to the Miller Lite Super Bowl party in little more than a week when he brings four of his friends to the Pacific Islands Club courtesy of the folks at Pacific Trading Co.

Be sure to see their final picks for the Super Bowl in this Saturday’s edition of the Saipan Tribune.
