TODAY IS MLK DAY

The African-American Cultural Preservation Committee Inc. is inviting the public to participate in a tribute to, celebration, and commemoration of the continuing struggle for civil and human rights, on the occasion of the American family’s national observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday today, Jan. 16.

The public is invited to participate in a commemorative “mini-march” starting at 5pm today, from the central parking area of the American Memorial Park, down Beach Road to Garapan Elementary School and back to the American Memorial Park.

Following this march will be an assemblage in the museum theater area of the park for the formal program activities and presentation of speakers. Sen. Maria T. Pangelinan, the CNMI’s first female senator, will deliver the keynote address.

GTC PTA MEETING

The Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School is informing all parents/guardians that there will be a PTA meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, at 6:30pm in the school cafeteria.

CHUUKESE WOMEN’S MEETING SET

This is to inform all Chuukese women in the CNMI that there will be an important meeting on Jan. 22, 2006, Sunday, at the Carolinian Utt pavilion, from 3pm to 8pm.

SMALL CLAIMS MATTERS RESET

All small claims matters originally scheduled for Jan. 5, 2006, in Courtroom 220A of the CNMI Superior Court are rescheduled to Feb. 16, 2006. The notice was issued on Dec. 22 by Clerk of Court Bernadita A. Sablan.

HEADSTART TO RESUME CLASSES ON JAN. 17

HeadStart classes will resume on Jan. 17, instead of Jan. 16 as had been announced earlier.

SSHS PTA MEETING ON JAN 19

Saipan Southern High School will be having its Parents Teachers Association meeting on Thursday, Jan. 19, 6:30pm at SSHS cafeteria.

TINIAN JUNIOR/SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Tinian Junior/Senior High School is encouraging parents and/or guardians to volunteer and/or become members of the Parents Advisory Council.
