BANMI to meet on Jan. 23

The Basketball Association of the Northern Mariana Islands will hold an important meeting on Jan. 23 at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium conference room.

BANMI president Mike Muna said the meeting, which will be called to order at 5pm, will focus on the preparation for the CNMI men’s and women’s teams to the upcoming Micronesian Games, as well as the hosting of the basketball competition.

“There’s a lot that needs to be discussed as we prepare for the Micro Games,” Muna said.

Muna said other items on the agenda include next month’s tentative start of the Budweiser Cup BANMI Men’s Island-wide Basketball League, as well as the possible start of the BANMI Men’s 25-and-under Basketball League.

“There’s a lot of stuff that are going on, so we’ll have a lot things to discuss. The Bud Cup is supposedly set to start next month and we’ll have to how things are rolling with that,” he said. (Shan Seman)
