Govt seeks deportation of 2 workers for unlawful employment
The CNMI government has filed separate deportation cases against two alien workers who were allegedly found unlawfully working at a construction site.
The Division of Immigration sought for the deportation of Zhou Tiegang and Zheng Yong Hua, both Chinese nationals.
Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman ordered Zhou and Zheng to explain in court on Feb. 2 at 1:30pm why they should not be deported from the Commonwealth.
Immigration Investigator John Peter said that on Oct. 6, 2005 agents from the Attorney General’s Investigative Unit arrested the respondents after they were found to be working for Max Construction at a construction site without lawful documentation to be so employed.
Peter said Zhou’s labor case was settled on Nov. 28, 2005 and he was given 45 days to seek employment.
Peter said Zhou, a farmer, does not have any temporary work authorization for him to be employed by Max Construction.
With respect to Zheng, the investigator said the respondent, an electrician, does not have any pending labor case and does not have a TWA for him to be so employed by Max.
