Cheers and jeers resonated inside AJ’s Restaurant as college gridiron fans rooted for the University of Texas Longhorns and the University of Southern California Trojans during Thurday’s 2006 Rose Bowl.

AJ’s, together with Carmen Safeway Wholesale, Asahi Beer, Dial Rent-to-Own and affiliate Cheap Charlie Golf Discount Store, sponsored the half-day college football party broadcast live from Pasadena, California.

Rhea Nishida, AJ’s marketing manager, said the organizers were overwhelmed with the turnout of the event that they immediately decided to hold another Rose Bowl breakfast and lunch coverage at the Susupe piano bar and restaurant next year.

Nishida said the event was the first time for the restaurant, but they have held several similar events for the Super Bowl.

For only $20, guests and fans enjoyed an array of luscious breakfast and lunch, inclusive of unlimited Asahi beer, juices, Bloody Mary, and coffee.

The guests were given extra treats when sponsors Carmen Safeway Supermarket, led by its general manager Eli Miravilla, gave away raffle prizes for lucky fans that joined in the celebration.
