Welcoming 2006 by traveling back in time through dance was the modus operandi of Pacific Islands Club’s nighttime entertainment for in-house and local guests of the hotel last Monday.

Six of the hotel’s Clubmates pranced and tapped their dancing shoes in an ensemble performance that brought back memories of bobby socks and the bubble gum enthusiasm of the baby boomer generation.

Entertainment and Kids Club manager Nan Intharaluk said the presentation, held at the PIC Buoy Bar, was part of the hotel’s nighttime entertainment, which will be featured at the Buoy Bar every night.

He said that PIC has prepared several presentations for their local and in-house guests, not only dance routines depicting the ‘50s and the ‘60s but also other forms of entertainment.

Intharaluk, who has been with the hotel since 1994, choreographed Monday’s dance routine, which he calls Swing Night. It was inspired by Burn the Floor music.

He said as entertainment manager, he makes it a point to ensure that the hotel’s guests enjoy themselves.

The hotel, he said, would have themed performances every week and the public could learn more about the schedule of the performances every night by calling PIC’s information booth.
