The newest dance group in the CNMI, the Inatuas Dance Troupe, will hold a dinner dance concert and show at the Aqua Resort Club tonight.

The group will rule the stage at the Raraina Restaurant starting at 6:30pm until 9:30pm.

ARC sales and marketing manager Dorina Gabutero said the dinner show intends to showcase the CNMI’s cultural heritage, especially in the form of dances identified to be unique with the Chamorros.

Gabutero said the hotel opted to sponsor the dance concert of the local group to help and support it in raising funds. She said a percentage of the net proceeds of the show will go to the group.

The sales and marketing manager also said the concert is very timely since the hotel occupancy is high this holiday season. She said the hotel has more than 200 in-house guests, which are mostly tourists from Japan.

The concert is also an additional activity for the hotel. She said the Inatuas Dance Troupe has members who are young children. “I’m sure the children of our tourists will be delighted to see local children like them dancing,” Gabutero said.

She said the hotel chose the Inatuas because the group is the only one that performs solely Chamorro dances, unlike other dance groups that also showcase other Pacific Islands dance forms and moves. “We want to focus on the Chamorro heritage, that’s why we are having them,” Gabutero said.

The dinner show will cost only $50 per adult and only $25 for the children. Gabutero said the fee is already inclusive of a set dinner with at least a five-course menu that guests will surely appreciate.
