An inmate facing attempted murder charges was again prosecuted, this time for allegedly assaulting a jail guard.

Isman Nepios Bokuku, 21, was charged yesterday with assault.

The Attorney General’s Office said that on June 26, 2005 Bokuku threw a bottle of iced tea at Corrections Officer David Masga Deleon Guerrero.

The defendant was summoned to appear and answer the charges on Jan. 16 at 9am.

The AGO did not indicate the circumstances behind the alleged attack.

In June 2005, the AGO filed attempted second-degree murder and other charges against Bokuku for allegedly beating and stabbing a minor with a knife along a highway in Chalan Kanoa on June 14, 2005.

The prosecution said Bokuku “did attempt to unlawfully kill” a 17-year-old boy.

According to court documents, the boy underwent surgery at the Commonwealth Health Center to remove from his back a blade that broke off from the tip of the knife that was embedded in the puncture wound. The blade got stuck in the victim’s spine, barely missing the lungs, police said.

Police said the minor was riding a bicycle on his way home when Bokuku blocked him in front of Maxim Store.

The defendant allegedly grabbed the victim by the shirt, punched him repeatedly on the forehead, and pulled him off from the bicycle.

Bokuku allegedly tried to slam the victim’s head against the utility pole, but the minor managed to push him. The suspect then pulled a knife and stabbed the minor in the back, police said.
