Filipino alliance gathers organization presidents
The Alliance of Filipino Presidents CNMI, USA is sponsoring a get-together party for all presidents of Philippine organizations in the Commonwealth.
The party is in time for the holiday season, according to alliance chair Edgardo “Ed” Reyes.
He said the event is exclusive to Filipino organization presidents and their spouses. The organizer is also inviting representatives from Rota and Tinian organizations.
Reyes said the party would be held tomorrow, Dec. 26, 6:30pm, at Club V, Saipan Grand Hotel. There will be an entrance fee of $17 dollars per attendee.
“This is just our way of uniting all the presidents of all different Filipino organizations in the CNMI,” Reyes said, adding that the event would be a first for the alliance. He expressed hope that they would hold another such event in the years to come.
Reyes said this affair is also one way of consolidating Filipino groups across the Mariana Islands. He said the president of an organization is the pillar of its strength and unity; “that’s why a recognition party and ceremony should be held for them.”
The alliance chair said the event would not be realized without the cooperation of vice-chair Neil Atalig and the rest of the members.
He said he would like to encourage all presidents of Filipino organizations in the CNMI to take part in this event.
Some of the Filipino organizations in the CNMI are Bayani, Cabalen, Visminda, CNMI Power, Samahan ng mga Manggagawang Filipino, Samahang Ilokano Pangasinense, and many more.
