A more spacious San Antonio wellness center will reopen soon after the health facility temporarily closed its doors to give way to renovation work.

The $70,000-renovation of the San Antonio wellness center is almost completed, according to Deputy Secretary for Public Health Pedro Untalan.

The department temporarily closed the health center since July, and relocated its operations to the San Antonio branch of the Saipan Health Clinic, a private facility.

Untalan expressed his gratitude to the private clinic for sharing its space with the department, giving residents of southern Saipan accessibility to public health services.

“The renovation of the San Antonio clinic is an expansion of spaces. Right now, it has a bigger waiting area,” Untalan said.

Untalan said the department has yet to set the date of the reopening, but added it would likely be during the first week of January. (John Ravelo)
